Xander’s dangerously close to doing something stupid.
Philip may not know it, but in the Friday, June 13 episode of Days of Our Lives, he could be in deep, deep trouble. The cliffhanger involved a menacing Xander holding a pillow and looking like he was going to smother his half-brother. Will Philip wake up before Xander does whatever he’s about to do?
Genuine Hate?
On Friday the 13th, Xander (Paul Telfer) had to face a gloating EJ (Dan Feuerriegel), a pissed off Kayla (Mary Beth Evans), and he finally got the opportunity to talk to Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). She sounded super conflicted, but she knew she couldn’t keep Victoria away from her husband. She told Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) as much. So she finally called him so they could meet and talk about their daughter.
Despite having the urge to leave town with Victoria, she knew she had to stay and face the consequences of Xander’s and her actions. She laid down her terms, take ’em or leave ’em.
She would arrange supervised visitation that was planned and scheduled, and didn’t involve impromptu visits. Xander continued to blame Sarah for creating the circumstances that led to Philip’s beatdown. But ultimately, he knew what was important here, and that was Victoria. So, he agreed to do things Sarah’s way.
Later, Sarah admitted to Maggie that she hated Xander, but really, she just hated how much she still loved him. Thankfully, she didn’t give in to her urge to run away like she did with Rachel. Instead, she’ll have to settle for hoping and praying that Xander gets his act together. And that he ultimately is remorseful for what he did to Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier). His anger tendencies are too extreme, and they need to be dealt with.
Kill Phil?
For now, getting his act together doesn’t seem like an option. Xander entered Philip’s hospital room and picked up a pillow. He looked like he was going to finish he job he started in that hotel room.
Is smothering Philip his intention? Or is Xander simply processing his anger and rethinking what he did? Is there a world where Xander could be remorseful for beating Philip within an inch of his life? Does he not remember all of the massively bad things he’s done to people over the years?
Hopefully, Philip will wake up and put an end to this. There’s a very good chance that he won’t do what people would expect him to do, which is nail Xander to the wall and send him to jail. There’s a very real chance that he could not remember. Or he could decide to choose redemption and refuse to crucify Xander after everything that has happened.
