Xander storms into the Kiriakis estate, his fury barely held back. Sarah, already present, is taken aback by his energy. She watches nervously as he pours himself a strong drink and downs it in one go. When she asks what’s going on, his answer is laced with venom: “I’ve been betrayed.” And the betrayer? None other than Philip.
Sarah is stunned but stays composed, asking what Philip could have possibly done now. That’s when Xander drops the bomb — Vivian told him everything. Philip’s been lying to Xander for months, secretly stealing half of his company and manipulating him under the guise of loyalty.
As if on cue, Philip walks in, his expression unreadable. The air turns electric. Xander, eyes blazing, demands answers. Philip doesn’t deny a thing. In fact, he’s ready to confess everything.
He reveals that Vivian was the mastermind behind the scheme. She offered him a chance to regain power, to have a purpose again after the mental institution. In his vulnerable state, Philip convinced himself this was what Victor would have wanted. Xander, however, sees through the excuse — calling Philip out for using him and trying to become the “golden son” again.
Sarah watches as tensions escalate. She tries to keep things from boiling over, stepping between the two men. But the damage is done. Philip admits that while he betrayed Xander, he never mocked him or meant to destroy him. In fact, working with Xander made him feel like he was finally part of a family again. It meant something to him. But it’s too late. Xander orders him out. Philip, hurt but resigned, apologizes one final time and leaves.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Salem, Melinda finds herself in hot water after JJ accuses her of attempting to kill him. Though she was fired, Gabi surprisingly offers her a job, claiming she might need Melinda’s skills. Melinda agrees — but warns Gabi to stay away from JJ to avoid complications. Things escalate when Melinda heads to the police station and is confronted with a gun found in a trash can — her gun. She insists she didn’t dispose of it and explains she had lent it to Ava, who was afraid for her life after being attacked by Kristen’s mother. However, Ava’s prior conviction and lack of gun rights complicate things. JJ takes Melinda into custody, even though she claims she’s done nothing wrong.
Over in another corner of town, Sami prepares to leave Salem. She shares an emotional goodbye with Rafe, who’s busy wiring up surveillance equipment. Sami reflects on her trip, proud she managed to avoid drama — sort of. Rafe tells her how Jada was furious after hearing he slept with Sami. Sami is surprised Rafe confessed. “Have I taught you nothing?” she scolds. Still, she advises him to give Jada space but also to think about what he really wants — and what he’s willing to do to get it back. 
Elsewhere in the square, Vivian taunts Philip, reminding him that now that his secret is out, he’s lost everything — including her support. She plans to leave Salem and bumps into Gabi, who’s less than thrilled to see her. The two spar verbally, with Gabi threatening retaliation if Vivian comes after her again. Vivian, however, brushes it off, claiming Gabi’s already paid — her son divorced her without looking back.
The episode takes a lighter turn when Vivian runs into Sami again in the square. They surprisingly exchange compliments and discover they’re taking the same flight out of Salem. With shared plans to catch a ride together, the two women prepare to leave town — but you can’t help but wonder if this pairing will lead to more trouble wherever they land.
Back at the Kiriakis estate, the emotional wreckage of Xander and Philip’s confrontation still lingers. Sarah gently reassures Xander that she never lied to him — and she never will. He appreciates her honesty in a moment where so much around him has been deception.
As the episode closes, JJ warns Melinda that while lending a gun isn’t a crime in itself, the circumstances are suspicious — especially considering Ava’s criminal record. Though they don’t arrest her yet, she’s now firmly on their radar.
