Let’s get started…

The evening begins at the Brady Pub where Xander and Sarah are trying to enjoy a quiet dinner before Sarah’s night shift at the hospital. But even with food and candlelight, tensions linger. Xander admits he’s planning to head into the office—not out of ambition, but simply to avoid Philip, his new and very unwelcome co-CEO. Sarah questions whether Philip will even show his face, but Xander knows better. “I’m stuck with him,” he says with clear frustration.

Sarah, ever supportive, tells Xander she hates seeing him go through this. She reminds him that while Philip may be pulling strings and playing games, Xander hasn’t done anything wrong. But Xander can’t shake the guilt. He’s hiding a secret—one that, if revealed, could destroy not only his career, but others around him. “That makes me complicit,” he says grimly. Sarah tries to frame it as a noble act. “Aren’t you doing it for the greater good?” she asks.

Despite her reassurances, Xander confesses he’s torn. He believes that coming clean might be the best way to minimize the damage. Sarah gently takes his hand and advises him to stay the course. “You’re doing this to protect your family. Hold on to that.” As their conversation winds down, Xander lightens the mood, suggesting they finally take a honeymoon trip. “Through all this Kiriakis craziness, you’ve been my one steady pillar,” he says lovingly. Sarah beams as she agrees, but her hospital pager quickly reminds them reality is never far.

Meanwhile, at the Kiriakis mansion, Holly sneaks back into her room just as Doug peeks out from the bathroom. He’s been secretly staying there, avoiding Maggie’s wrath. Holly encourages Doug to tell her grandmother the truth, but Doug hesitates, hoping to land a job and move out soon.

Their secret almost gets exposed when Maggie walks by the hallway, just missing Doug. But it’s Philip who runs into Maggie, and the tension explodes. He claims he’s only there to collect the rest of his things, but Maggie isn’t buying it. Her fury boils over as she accuses him of manipulating others and dragging innocent people into his lies. “You roped others into your mess,” she scolds, disgusted. Philip defends himself, saying he was desperate, and reminds Maggie that Victor was his father too. But Maggie isn’t swayed. “There are legal ways to carry on Victor’s legacy—ways that don’t involve Vivian or deceit,” she snaps.

Back in Holly’s room, Doug overhears the argument and feels the guilt mounting. When he thinks the coast is clear, he sneaks out—only to bump into Philip. “Who the hell are you?” Philip demands. Doug sheepishly explains his situation. Though Philip refuses to lie for him, he agrees not to rat him out—for now. But he offers a stern warning: “Tell the truth before your secret gets exposed.”

Elsewhere, in the Town Square, Sophia emerges from a boutique, arms full of shopping bags, and runs into Tate. They’re preparing for the prom, treating it as a celebration of their baby’s upcoming adoption by Johnny and Chanel. Tate reassures her they’ll have a great night, and Sophia thanks him for standing by her through everything. They share a warm hug—just in time for Holly to show up and witness it.

Trying to play it cool, Holly tells them she’s just picking up pizza. But when Sophia happily reveals they’re going to prom together to celebrate the adoption, Holly’s smile fades. She congratulates them and walks away, masking her pain.

Back at the café, Sophia and Tate talk about how lucky they are to have found Johnny and Chanel as adoptive parents. Sophia even pulls out a scrapbook she made as a gift for the couple, eager to share something personal with them.

But across town at the Price-Carver home, Johnny is having a private conversation with Chanel—and it’s nothing short of explosive.

“I’m not sure I can go through with the adoption,” he confesses.

Chanel is blindsided. “Since when are you having doubts?” she gasps.

Johnny explains that ever since he discovered the truth about his conception, he’s been wrestling with a deep identity crisis. He doesn’t feel grounded enough to raise a child. “It wouldn’t be fair. Not to them. Not to you,” he says.

Chanel is heartbroken but tries to stay rational. She urges Johnny to seek therapy and assures him that they still have time. But Johnny shakes his head. He doesn’t think he’ll be ready before the baby arrives. He even suggests that Tate and Sophia need time to find another adoptive family.

Chanel breaks down. “We’re the best candidates, Johnny. I already feel like the baby’s mother.” She pleads with him not to let his fears—fueled by EJ’s cruel legacy—destroy their future. “You are not your father,” she says firmly. “Please don’t let EJ take away our chance to start a family.”

Still, Johnny is plagued with self-doubt. He worries he’ll be a bad father, that the darkness in his bloodline is too strong to ignore. Chanel refuses to believe it. “How you were conceived has nothing to do with the man you are,” she insists.

Tears stream down her face as she asks, “Don’t you trust me?”

“More than anything,” Johnny whispers.

But even as Chanel tries to hold on for both of them, Johnny admits he still feels lost. Chanel, devastated, screams, “What about what I need?” Johnny’s silence says it all.

And that’s where today’s episode leaves us—on a heartbreaking note as a secret truth shakes the foundation of everything Johnny and Chanel hoped to build.
