It was a productive yet frustrating edition of Days of Our Lives, at least for Chad and Cat. In the Wednesday, December 11 episode, it looked like Chad was

about to find out where Abigail’s body was. Unfortunately, that bit of information remained out of reach.

The Beginning of the End

For most of the episode, Clyde (James Read) remained a few steps ahead of Chad (Billy Flynn) and company. The escaped prisoner got the drop on JJ (Casey

Moss) and Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) while he sent Cat’s mom to kill Chad and Cat (AnnaLynne McCord). Obviously, he knew Catherina (Susan Elena Matus) wouldn’t recognize her daughter. So, all the easier to kill his enemies, right?

Did Clyde say that Catherina’s an assassin? Is she one from way back, or did he turn her into one? That’s a question for another day. Clyde proved he knew all about JJ and Gabi, acting as Chad and Cat. He had the upper hand when he trained his gun on Gabi.

Meanwhile, Catherina holds a gun on Cat and Chad and says some odd things. She sounded brainwashed and even called Clyde, her friend. Plus, she claimed she had to do everything he said. She acted so oddly. it wasn’t long before Chad pushed Cat out of the way, got the jump on Catherina, and tied her up.

Cat reminisced about her life with Catherina and talked about the birthmark she had. That seemed to shake Catherina up and make her believe that this woman before her, pleading with her, was indeed her daughter. Unfortunately, Cat stupidly untied her mom, who grabbed Cat’s gun and left to take care of Clyde.

Fortunately, Chad had already snuck up on Clyde and hit him over the head. Supposedly, Clyde recognized that Chad and co. had won this round. Why should he worry about going to jail? He’s a professional escaper from prison. However, it doesn’t look like going back to jail is in the cards for the career criminal and wannabe supervillain.

Just as he was allegedly about to come clean about what he did with Abigail’s body, Catherina came in and shot him in the chest. So, Catherina does have assassin-like skills. Who knew?

But also the Beginning

Before Catherina shot Clyde, the man with the George Hazard alias (James Read’s character on the classic miniseries North and South) started telling Chad about Abigail. He said, “I’ll tell you the truth about Abigail. But you ain’t going to like it. Abigail is…”

So, did Catherina shoot Clyde because of revenge, or did she shut him up because he was about to blab about where Abigail’s body was? Just what was the nature of the dynamic between Clyde and Catherina? And why wouldn’t Catherina want Chad to know about his late wife’s remains? Does Catherina know anything about Abigail? If she does, will she tell Chad?
