CORRIE’S Bernie Winter is set to face an Indecent Proposal-style plot as her stalking ordeal takes a dark new twist.
In January, I revealed that ITV bosses had turned to early-1990s hit movie, Single White Female, for storyline inspiration.

And they’ve got their latest plot twist from the 1993 blockbuster starring Demi Moore, Robert Redford and Woody Harrelson.
Bernie, played by Jane Hazlegrove has been stalked by twisted electrician Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) since they spent an evening drinking and taking drugs earlier this year.
Bernie’s copper son Kit — played by hunky Jacob Roberts — put Mal in hospital while warning him off.
But in shocking scenes due to be aired in the coming months, viewers will see Mal use the knowledge of who attacked him to force Bernie into bed.

A soap source said: “Bernie is given a disgusting offer when Mal tells her to sleep with him in return for him not turning Kit in to the police.
“Bernie’s going to be backed into a corner with an impossible decision to make.
“There’s been a lot of talk on set that it’s an even more twisted take on the movie, Indecent Proposal, and that someone in the writing team loves 1990s blockbusters.
“This is the second time in as many months that they’ve looked to Hollywood for inspiration for their storylines.”

Earlier this year, Corrie newcomer Olivia Frances-Brown, who plays Jodie Ramsey, was at the centre of the Single White Female plot when she tried to take over her sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) life.
Bernie’s explosive storyline will kick off this spring.
ALEX IS FALAWFUL

NICOLE KIDMAN has revealed her worst screen kiss – when Alexander Skarsgard came at her with bad breath, after eating falafel.
Aussie beauty Nicole was turned right off by her Swedish co-star in US comedy-drama TV series Big Little Lies, calling the moment her worst EVER kiss on film.
She told the Las Culturistas podcast: “When Alexander ate a falafel sandwich before we did the scenes, I’m like, ‘No, no, no, Alex, I’m meant to be into you and kissing you – put away the falafel’.
“I’m sure he did not eat falafel ever again. I said, ‘No more falafel. Not before you kiss, not before you make love’.”
She added: “I cannot stand bad breath.
“This is a deal-breaker. You could be the most gorgeous guy, and if you came at me with bad breath, I’m like, no. If I say, ‘Breathe on me’, and have to recoil, I’m out.
“You couldn’t offer me enough money.”
ONLY WAY IS PUP, ALISON

ALISON HAMMOND is clearly a mutt-have presenter for ITV.
Producers have been so happy with her hosting of For The Love Of Dogs, she is to get a third season in the job.
She will return to Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, in South West London, to once again help pooches find a home. Alison took on the role after the passing of longtime presenter Paul O’Grady three years ago.
She says: “My heart was truly stolen by the brave pups I met last time and I’ve been itching to get back, roll up my sleeves, and help these gorgeous animals find the love they deserve.
“There’s a magic in seeing a dog’s tail wag for the first time after a tough start and I can’t wait to share that with everyone at home.”
Expect more heartwarming and tear-jerking tales when the six-parter airs this spring. What a treat.
KISS OF LIFE FOR SHOW

MY STORY this week that the BBC are axing their I Kissed A Boy and Girl dating shows left fans devastated.
But now I can reveal the franchise has been handed a lifeline – by romance app Tinder.
Twofour, who made the show for the BBC, is producing a spin-off visual podcast featuring original narrator Charley Marlowe. It’ll air on Tinder, YouTube and social platforms.
Just like the original, It Started With A Kiss will focus on LGBTQ love stories and see celebs opening up about dating highs and lows. Singles will tell how they look for love, while those who are taken will recall past dates.
A source said: “Visual podcasts are huge now and production values are so high it’s basically telly – look at The Traitors: Uncloaked which got huge viewing figures on the BBC.
The spin-off shows that there’s still life in I Kissed.”
