Coronation Street star Sally Carman-Duttine has opened up about working with her real-life husband and co-star Joe Duttine.
Sally, who plays Abi Webster, and Joe, who plays Tim Metcalfe, tied the knot back in 2022 after meeting on the ITV soap when Sally joined in 2017.
During a new interview with OK! magazine, Sally admitted that sharing the screen with her husband can be a bit of challenge because she can’t take him seriously.
“I’d be very happy never to have a scene with him ever again,” she said. “I love Joe to bits, but I don’t like working with him – I’m never going to like working with him.
“Bless him, we’ve got very different work processes – let’s just put it like that.”

The soap star continued: “I like to come fully prepared and he likes to flesh it out on the floor. Also, he’s very funny. I’m such a giggler and once I’ve gone, I’m gone. It’s terrible and even if people get annoyed about it, it doesn’t help.
“He absolutely makes me howl with laughter and he does it on purpose. I get cross with him because he knows the situation, but he can’t help himself.”
In other news, Coronation Street recently confirmed rumours of a romantic spark between Sally’s character Abi and her brother-in-law Carl, who she recently came face-to-face with for the first time.

Recently speaking to Inside Soap about how Abi has been feeling since Carl turned up, Sally said: “They had this shock meeting where they ran into each other and there was instant electricity.
“Then he turned up in her life and turned out to be Kevin’s brother, which was gutting because he’d awakened something in Abi.
“I think with her being an addict, there was that rush, that adrenaline that she hasn’t had for a very long time. It completely turned her from red to blue.”
