Coronation Street‘s Claire Sweeney has opened up on her split from former boxer Ricky Hatton.
The pair both appeared on Dancing on Ice in January 2024 and confirmed their romance that April. Claire, who was partnered with professional skater Colin Grafton, left the show in week three, while Ricky, who was partnered with Robin Johnstone, left in week one.
The former couple confirmed that they’d gone their separate ways late last year and were on good terms as friends. Now, Claire has opened up on her love life in the wake of the split.
The soap star said life is “all good” and that she’s currently single, telling The Mirror: “I’m not dating at the moment. I’m single. I’ve got my son Jaxon and I’m busy and just really enjoying where I’m at in my career.”
She previously shared how things had turned romantic with Ricky after the pair had spent years forming a friendship through meeting each other at work events.

“I’ve known him for 25 years or so, we kind of always passed each other during events,” she said during an appearance on Lorraine.
“Do you know what? He makes me laugh, that’s it. I first met him in La Manga in the early 2000s, then we did Dance for Comic Relief together in 2013.”
Meanwhile, Claire recently shared her hopes for the future of her Corrie character Cassie Plummer.
Cassie is currently not a popular resident in Weatherfield after it was revealed she had been drugging Ken Barlow and making purchases using his credit card.

But while Cassie doesn’t have many friends left, she hopes that new love interest Steve McDonald might be able to forgive her – and Claire hopes that a wedding is in the characters’ future.
She told Digital Spy: “I said this to [Simon Gregson, who plays Steve] the other day, ‘I’d love us to get married’. He went, ‘Not another wedding’,” she joked. “I’ve never been married in real life, I’ve been married once in Brookside. It would be lovely to have a wedding in Corrie.”
