Coronation Street’s Aaron (played by James Craven) recently opened up to his girlfriend Summer
(Harriet Bibby) that his father drinks too much and occasionally lashes out at him. Using the
information to her advantage, Summer agreed to keep his secret if he didn’t tell anyone about her
diabulimia. However, his long-kept secret was recently outed after his father came after him over the accusation of stolen drugs and alcohol. However, in upcoming events, Aaron is set to feel guilt when his father has a horrible accident.
Official spoilers reveal that Aaron is bombarded with texts from his angry dad, with Summer noticing.
When it’s time for Aaron to leave, Summer begs him not to go home so Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) volunteer to check up on him.
As they return, they report back that he was drunk and angry and decided to leave him on his own.
Later, the police turn up at the flat, and Aaron is stunned as the officer reveals his dad is currently in hospital following a house fire.

After rushing to the hospital, Aaron is relieved when his dad comes to but is heartbroken when Eric groggily wishes he hadn’t survived.
Ridden with guilt and not going home to be there for him, Aaron blames himself for ignoring his messages and leaving him unsupervised.
Summer arrives at the hospital to support her boyfriend and begs Aaron to let her share his burden.
But a dismissive Aaron tells her he has to focus on his dad, leaving Summer crushed.

Summer ended up snapping at Billy, saying that she was sick of being controlled when he tried to lecture Aaron about the drugs incident.
Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) made things worse by telling Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) about the incident.
