Coronation Street has reignited one of soap’s most iconic feuds, as Gail Rodwell and Eileen Grimshaw
clash again.
Tonight’s (December 13) episode saw the Platt family celebrating Gail’s upcoming nuptials before she
begins her new life in France.
Gail, Audrey, Sarah and Bethany all gathered in the Rovers, while Gail’s long-term rival Eileen watched from the bar. “Could you class Gail’s hen party as an occasion? I mean it’s more of an annual event, isn’t it?” remarked Eileen.
She continued to taunt Gail, but Gail refused to rise to the bait. “I’m leaving, Eileen. Now’s not the time for grudges,” Gail replied with a smile, before inviting Eileen and her partner George Shuttleworth to join the party.
Sarah revealed she had a quiz all about Gail, and Eileen seized the opportunity to have some fun. It wasn’t long before the iconic rivalry had resumed as Eileen made snarky comments about Gail and her past relationships.
Gail calmly approached the bar, asking for a glass of water. “I just don’t want to waste good Prosecco throwing it at her,” she revealed, lifting the drink up towards Eileen.
Eileen warned that she would throw her own drink at Gail, and the duo prepared for another showdown, with their glasses aimed at each other. However, before things could kick off, they were interrupted by Audrey, who said she wasn’t feeling well.
Back at the Platt house, Audrey made a confession to an unimpressed David, admitting that she wants Gail to think she’s ill in a bid to stop her from moving to France.
“David, do you know, I am feeling really, really down at the moment,” she explained. “Gail is my daughter. She’s my only living child now. And I am gonna miss her so much it hurts.”
With Gail’s wedding fast approaching, will Audrey be able to let her daughter go?
