Coronation Street fans believe they’ve uncovered a legendary character’s comeback after two years, and it’s bad news for Carla Connor and Lisa Swain.
Carla (Alison King) and Lisa (Vicky Myers) sparked a romance at the end of last year, with soap viewers quickly referring to them as a “power couple”.
The duo, fondly referred to as Swarla by fans, are currently living together in Carla’s flat on Victoria Street, along with Lisa’s teenage daughter, Betsy (Sydney Martin).
However, they’re soon set to relocate to number six after Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney) retracted her hefty offer last week.
It’s been a challenging few months for detective sergeant Lisa following the death of her colleague, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith), in May, reports Leicestershire Live.

Since Craig’s heartbreaking passing, Lisa has been tormented by distressing recollections of her ex-wife Becky’s similar end.
Soap fans will remember Lisa being married to Becky, who was also Betsy’s mother. However, disaster struck in 2021 when fellow officer Becky was tragically killed on duty after being hit by a vehicle.
Earlier this year, Lisa revealed that the villainous Radcliffe brothers, Matty (Séamus McGoff) and Logan (Harry Lowbridge), were behind the wheel of the car that fatally hit Becky in the hit-and-run incident.

In recent scenes, Lisa has been reminiscing about Becky’s death, and even attempted to access a computer file on her ex-wife’s case, but without success.
Lisa’s mounting stress levels resulted in her being assigned to less demanding duties at work, and she was urged to consider counselling.

On Monday (July 21), Carla reassured Lisa that following several more therapy sessions, she’d be back to her usual self.
“It’s early days and the more you go, the sooner you’ll see the benefits of it,” she explained.
Nevertheless, Lisa remained unconvinced, and voiced her concerns that her superiors wouldn’t permit her to return to work.
“I know I’m not myself. I can’t shake it off… They’re not gonna risk it, and I don’t blame them. Carla, I’m done,” she said.
Later, Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) used Carla’s laptop at Underworld, and was stunned to discover a letter from Carla requesting to visit Logan in prison.

Now, numerous Coronation Street fans are certain that Peter Barlow could make a comeback to the street to win Carla back.
Following years of being in a relationship, Peter and Carla ended things on Boxing Day in 2023 as actor Chris Gascoyne said goodbye to the soap after 23 years.
Regarding a potential reunion, one person posted on a Facebook fan page: “Surely Peter’s going to come back at some point to get Carla back.”
Another commented: “Yesss bring Peter back, I much prefer him to Lisa,” whilst a third remarked: “That would be the best love triangle ever.”
A fourth viewer shared the opinion, stating: “Omg the drama if Peter came back would be sooo good. Carla could even leave Lisa for him because of their history.”
