Coronation Street‘s producer Kate Brooks has confirmed plans for Todd Grimshaw to find love again next year.
The popular character has had a quieter time on screen over the past year or so, but he’ll return to prominence in 2025 with a chance of happiness.
In a chat with Digital Spy and other media at a recent press event, Brooks was asked about future romances on the cobbles.
She replied: “There might be a new man for Todd coming. He’s been single for donkey’s years, and he’s fantastic.
“The Grimshaws are another big clan I am eager to explore. So there might be a new man coming for Todd, which will come with its own tests and trials.”
Meanwhile, discussing other romances, Brooks continued: “Alya and Adam is definitely a slow burn. I think they’re really interesting to have in the solicitor’s office.
“We obviously have Dee-Dee as well in 2025. Just when you thought the Joel story had come to an end, there is another chapter that happens that is going to completely upend Dee-Dee’s life.
“There are a couple of infidelities here and there in 2025, but ultimately the relationships of the Platts, Carla and Lisa, these are all relationships that are going to be at the forefront of the show.”
Gareth Pierce, who plays Todd, previously spoke to about future plans for Todd earlier this year.
Catching up with us in September, he explained: “I think there’s definitely a sense that we want to play a relationship story with Todd at some point in the near future.
“There have been references to the fact that he’s getting on now. Todd is going to be 40 in January next year, so there’s been the odd reference to ‘still living at home, nearly 40’.
“I’m definitely interested in what’s next for Todd and I’m assured that there’s stuff to come.”
