Coronation Street lines up chaotic scenes next week with a classic soap love triangle leading to heartbreak and a kiss, while villainous Maggie Driscoll is up to something
There’s a love triangle next week on Coronation Street, and a preview reveals the moment someone gets hurt.
Lauren Bolton, Ollie Driscoll and Amy Barlow feature in chaotic scenes, but it’s Ollie’s grandmother Maggie Driscoll who’s doing the meddling it seems. After Ollie recently moved on with Amy, while the romance has barely gotten started, it’s clear he still has feelings for his previous love interest Lauren.
She feels the same and next week, she opens up to Ollie about her relationship reservations. Discussing her past, she ends up leaning in for a kiss which Ollie reciprocates.
As things get passionate, Amy comes storming in after searching for Ollie. She’s left tearful as she spots them kissing, and realises Ollie isn’t the man she thought he was after her own past.

As Lauren tries to speak Amy shuts her down, telling her it’s nothing to do with her. Ollie then tries to defend him kissing another woman by suggesting Amy was ghosting him.
After a misunderstanding is cleared up, Amy fumes at Ollie and tells him she’s had a lucky escape. But Maggie then enters the room asking Amy if she found him.
Clearly Amy had asked Maggie where her grandson was and she directed her to the back room, where she found Lauren and Ollie kissing. So did Maggie know the pair were in there and what Amy might walk in on?

After all, she does tell Lauren to fight for her man, effectively, clearly wanting to split him and Amy up. Just prior she was trying to split up Lauren and Ollie, so what is she playing at?
It could well be linked to a reported new storyline, with it suggested Amy’s dad Steve McDonald and Ollie’s dad Ben Driscoll are secretly brothers. So is Maggie trying to stop Ollie and Amy from entering a relationship because they may be related?
Also next week we see Maggie nervous, as Ben accompanies Steve to his late father Jim McDonald’s funeral. It’s reported Jim will be revealed to be Ben’s real father, so is this why she is so uneasy about Ben attending?
