Emmerdale’s Lawrence Robb is known for his role as Mackenzie Boyd on the long-running series, which recently saw explosive scenes unfold on Friday night
Emmerdale’s Mackenzie Boyd is played by none other than Lawrence Robb, who recently teased ‘there’s more to come’ for his character after shock scenes previously aired. Fans were gobsmacked on Friday night when it was revealed that Mack was alive after it was believed he had been killed by John Sugden.
Fans watched as John dig up some leaves – where viewers believed Mack was buried. However, a secret door was then revealed, and when John walked down the stairs, Mack was seen lying down, wincing in pain – and most importantly, alive. First look images and trailers have shown the character confronting John as he reveals he remembers everything that happened.
However, John’s got him handcuffed and attached to a drip and viewers are waiting to see if he’ll escape.
With dramatic scenes unfolding on Emmerdale, we take a look at Lawrence’s life outside the chaos on the long-running soap series.
The actor comes from Kilmacolm, north-west of Glasgow in Scotland, with the star having two brothers, JJ and Mitchell, and a sister called Abi. Lawrence sometimes shares snaps of the close-knit family to social media. He previously showed off their bond when he posted a picture of their matching personalised registration plates.
Lawrence is reportedly in a relationship with West End star Pamela Blair, known for her roles in The Devil Wears Prada, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella and Oklahoma!
He mostly keeps his love life away from the spotlight, but Pamela posted a number of pictures of them enjoying a trip to Tuscany to celebrate her 28th birthday in September. A few months ago, she also posted saps of them dancing at a wedding together.
Last month, Pamela posted pictures from their trip to Cornwall where he was seen with her dog.
Not only does he cuddle up to her dogs, he also has dogs of his own. Lawrence regularly shares snaps of himself posing with his dachshunds named Peaches and Pip on his Instagram page.
When he’s not on set acting out dramatic scenes or enjoying trips with his reported girlfriend, he also shows off his hidden talent of singing. He once shocked fans when he posted an acoustic cover of Stand By Me by Ben E. King.
He played the keyboard as he revealed his skills playing the keyboard. Lawrence studied musical theatre before pursuing an acting career.
Meanwhile, the actor recently discussed the explosive scenes that played out on Emmerdale last week. Speaking to Lorraine, who returned to her show after her summer break, Lawrence revealed how he felt when he read the script which said his character had ‘died’.
“Initially I read it and thought, ‘Oh, they’ve just not told me that I’m dying,’ but there’s more to come,” Lawrence said – as Lorraine confirmed “he’s not done yet!”
The explosive storyline comes five years after Robb’s arrival in the soap, as he told Lorraine that he started playing the character five years ago today.
“He’s not out the woods yet is he?” Lorraine questioned, as Lawrence responded: “No. There’s a lot of drama still to come. He’s definitely not out of the woods. I’m looking forward to how it plays out. Shooting it with Ollie (Oliver Farnworth) was great – but it was a long time to be in that bunker.”
