Coronation Street enthusiasts will be thrilled to witness the comeback of Dev Alahan next week.
Earlier this year, Dev bid farewell to the cobbles for India following a severe fall suffered by his Aunt Gita. His departure left room for plenty of drama on the street and within his own family.
In recent episodes, Bernie Winter, Dev’s partner, discovered she had an additional grandson due to her son Kit Green being the biological father of Brody Michaelis.
Simultaneously, Dev’s son, Aadi Alahan, hosted a midsummer party at their family home that ended in disaster when Brody brought LSD to the gathering.

Lauren Bolton accidentally consumed Aadi’s LSD-laced drink, who had been planning to take the drug with Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman, leading to terrifying hallucinations of her late abuser, Joel Deering, reports Belfast Live.
In scenes set to air next week, more trouble awaits Aadi as he confronts a masked thief fleeing from the corner shop.
DS Lisa Swain, witnessing the chaos, freezes, leaving Carla Connor baffled by her inaction. Later, Aadi recounts to his sister Asha how the lad threatened him with a wrench and forced him to empty the safe. Asha reassures him that it’s not his fault and he’s the victim of a crime.
While reporting the incident, Aadi tells PC Jess that the robber made off with £6k in cash, but thankfully they’re insured.
However, Bernie, his stepmother, quickly picks up on Aadi’s evasive behaviour. Is there more to this than Aadi is revealing?
Suddenly, the door swings open, and Dev storms in, wondering what he’s missed. If Aadi is indeed the culprit, his dad Dev’s return to Weatherfield could mean trouble for the lad…
The plot thickens as actor Adam Hussain, who has been portraying Aadi for five years, revealed he’s leaving the beloved soap.
Adam took to Instagram to break the news earlier this year, posting: “I guess the secrets out now! As some of you may have heard, I will be leaving Coronation Street for new pastures.
“Over the 5 years I’ve spent there I have learned so much about the world and the industry and now feel I am ready to spread my wings a little. I have made friends that will last a lifetime and will surely miss such a special family!”
He added: “This isn’t a farewell for Aadi however, more like a see you later! I’m excited to see what the future brings!
“Thank you @coronationstreet @itv for giving me such a privilege of portraying this character for you. Until next time! Adam.”
