Nicola Mitchell’s (Laura Doddington) dark past finally catches up with her in EastEnders next week as she’s arrested for the murder of son Harry’s (Elijah Holloway) girlfriend Shireen.
The club owner blew Harry’s world apart earlier this month when she finally confessed she had killed Shireen, who had been ‘missing’ for the past four years.
The Mitchell clan currently has no idea, however, that Nicola killed her because she’d found out that Teddy Mitchell (Roland Manookian) is not their teenage son Barney’s (Lewis Bridgeman) real father – Zack Hudson (James Farrar) is.
With Zack having learned the truth earlier this year, Nicola has taken drastic steps to keep him quiet, including threatening the safety of his ex-girlfriend Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) and their baby daughter Dolly.

Concerned about the danger Nicola poses, Zack is currently making plans to leave Walford to be with Whitney and Dolly – but he’s intent on also taking Barney, who still has no idea Zack is his biological dad.
Nicola’s world starts to unravel in scenes to air on the BBC soap next week when Zack goes to Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) for a loan, and he delivers the bombshell that Nicola recently asked him to help dispose of a body.
After Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) urges Zack to go to the police, the information he shares with DC Powers is damning enough to have Nicola arrested.
Walford residents then watch on as Nicola is taken away in handcuffs – but the fallout from the arrest is far from over.
With Nicola out of the picture, Zack tells Harry the truth about Barney’s paternity, hoping to gain his support in keeping Barney safe.

However, the situation takes a dangerous turn when Nicola is later released from custody.
She scrambles to deny Zack’s claims, but when Teddy presses her, she finally admits that he is not Barney’s father.
As tensions erupt, Harry reveals to his parents Zack’s plan to flee Walford with Barney.
Taking reckless action, Harry then bundles Zack into the boot of a car and speeds off.
While still reeling from Nicola’s bombshell, Teddy is desperate to stop things from spiraling out of control and intercepts his brother Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and sister-in-law Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) and their friend Nigel Bates (Paul Bradley) on their way to the cinema, begging them to chase Harry down.
But just when it looks like he may be able to put a stop to it all, tragedy strikes, with one of the cars veering off the road and crashing into a lake.
Will everyone survive the catastrophic crash? And will Nicola face further consequences for Shireen’s murder?
