Worry is building for Lexi Pearce in tonight’s episode of EastEnders, as her behaviour raises questions and Phil Mitchell steps in to take her to the doctor.

But while Lexi insists she’s feeling unwell, it soon becomes clear that something deeper could be troubling her.

The drama begins when Callum drops Lexi off at the bus stop, ready to head to school. Everything seems normal on the surface until Callum leaves.

The moment he’s gone, Lexi quietly walks away from the bus stop, ditching school altogether.

Instead of heading to class, she sneaks into Phil’s house in the Square, clearly hoping to go unnoticed. However, her plan quickly falls apart when Sam Mitchell spots her.

Sam is surprised to see her there during school hours, and it isn’t long before Phil also discovers that Lexi has been hiding out in his house.

Put on the spot, Lexi claims she’s not feeling well and says she has a stomach ache, though the explanation doesn’t exactly convince either of them.

Phil’s first instinct is to call Callum and let him know what’s happened, but Sam suggests another idea. She proposes that they let Lexi stay for the day and turn it into a ‘girly day’, instead, giving her a chance to relax rather than face school.

Sam also encourages Phil to use the opportunity to go and visit Nigel Bates at the care home.

However, Phil refuses.

Instead of leaving, he decides he’ll stay with Lexi and Sam, a decision that hints at something more complicated going on with him.

Since Nigel moved into the care home, Phil has been avoiding the situation entirely. He hasn’t visited him once and has largely shut down any attempts to talk about it.

Given how close the two men have always been, practically inseparable at times, it’s clear Nigel’s absence has left a huge gap in Phil’s life.

Later in the day, Callum arrives at Phil’s house to collect Lexi.

Realising she skipped school again, he immediately becomes concerned and frustrated, questioning why she didn’t go to class. Lexi sticks to her story, insisting she’s feeling ill and suggesting that she might not be well enough to go back to school the next day either.

But Callum isn’t satisfied with that response.

He tells Lexi that if she really is ill, then she’ll need to see a doctor and get a proper sick note, because she can’t simply stay off school without a valid reason.

While she’s been insisting she’s not well, the idea of going to the doctor clearly stresses her out, leaving those around her wondering what’s really going on.

Trying to help the situation, Phil steps in and offers to take Lexi to the doctor himself the following morning.

It’s a kind gesture, but it could also force the truth to come out.

Lexi has been through an enormous amount for someone so young, and her recent behaviour may be a sign that it’s all finally starting to catch up with her.

She is still coping with the devastating loss of her mum, Lola Pearce, who tragically died from cancer, a heartbreak that deeply affected everyone in the Square.

On top of that, she has been dealing with Nigel’s sudden absence after he moved into a care home, something that has shaken the family.

There is also the emotional weight of Sam’s own cancer diagnosis, which may be stirring up painful memories for Lexi after everything she went through with Lola.

With so much grief and uncertainty surrounding her, it’s possible that Lexi’s ‘tummy ache’ is less about physical illness and more about the emotional strain she’s been carrying.

As Phil prepares to take her to the doctor, viewers will be left wondering whether Lexi is hiding something, or if she simply doesn’t yet have the words to explain how she’s really feeling.
