EMMERDALE has launched a new mystery as a body is dumped over a bridge in the New Year.

The ITV soap treated viewers to a series of flash-forward moments that preview some explosive scenes to come in 2025.

There’s Mackenzie Boyd running through a forest for something apparently urgent.

Caleb Miligan then can be seen flat-lining in a hospital after some incident seriously injures him.

Worryingly the next flash-forward sees Caleb’s brother Cain looking devastated while standing over a fresh grave.

And there’s a first look at the big stunt that will see three villagers plunged into an icy lake.

A single hand tries desperately to smash through the ice from below.

But the big mystery is what appears to be a well-wrapped and weighted-down body being dumped into a body of water by a mystery person.

Pushed over a bridge, it makes a huge splash before sinking down into the murky depths, sparking a dramatic new mystery for the soap.

But who is the body?
