Ruby Fox-Miligan’s (Beth Cordingly) life changed again in Emmerdale last week when someone shot her father Anthony (Nicholas Day) dead.
Days before this happened, Ruby’s secret that Anthony sexually abused her when she was a child started to become common knowledge.
It left Caleb Miligan (William Ash) with reason to want Anthony dead but also Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), two mums who allowed Anthony to spend time with their children for tutoring sessions.
As it stands, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) believes he murdered Anthony after attacking him in a barn. Once he learnt of Anthony’s secret, Aaron was reminded of his past with abuser Gordon and took his anger out on the old man.
Coming up, John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) helps to cover for Aaron by distracting Ruby in the café. This allows Aaron to break into Mill Cottage, gather Anthony’s belongings, and steal a spare car key.
With knowledge Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) is closing the garage for a few days, Aaron gets to work stripping down the car while John watches on with concern.
Later, John tells Aaron that there’s no evidence of Anthony’s murder left at the depot, and then visits the establishment for an apparent health and safety meeting.
While he’s there, John spots Anthony’s missing tooth on the floor. He does his best to retrieve it, but he is caught by Caleb.
Meanwhile, Aaron visits Ruby which leaves her panicked. He sits down and opens up about self harming and Gordon’s abuse, but quickly realises his guilt is becoming overwhelming.
With that, Aaron braces himself and admits he killed Anthony.
