Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has warned of possible tragedy ahead for Mandy Dingle and husband Paddy Kirk.
The ITV soap is due to air a big stunt this week as many of the village’s beloved characters are split into two groups in limos for a night out.
However, multiple lives are in danger as each limo swerves off the road in separate accidents, one of them crashing into a frozen lake.
Among the characters in the vehicles are Mandy and Paddy – and Lisa has revealed that their lives are very much in danger.
Speaking about the build-up and mystery, the star admitted she is “so excited to see it all hit the screens”, as audiences are unaware of who might die or survive.
“That’s what’s intriguing for me. Lives are very much in peril,” she noted. “But also I’m excited how it’s going to affect the programme for months to come. That’s what I love.
“This is not just like this stand alone, the stunt – the enormity of it. It’s the ripple effect that it’s going to have. And we haven’t had that in the village for a long time, so that’s what I’m excited about.”
The star added that her “lips are sealed” on what happens as she doesn’t “know a thing”, though teased: “Will Mandy and Paddy make it at the end? We don’t know. We don’t know…”
Lisa further shared that filming the scenes was “unbelievable”, with the cast gripped by a “page turner” script.
“We were like, ‘We didn’t see that coming’, and although obviously we had heard hubbub around at work what was to come we still didn’t know all the outcomes,” she said. “We were truly surprised, so I can’t wait for the viewers to see it.”
Lisa added: “We do want to keep some things a secret, but by keeping things quiet and a secret, it makes it so exciting because we’re going to see the reactions from the audience. And I love that.”
