There could be a new plot on the way on Emmerdale after a random spoiler was released this week.

It’s got viewers thinking something sinister is on the way, as the spoiler involves two characters who haven’t yet interacted. One of the characters is at the centre of a dark storyline on the show with fans also predicting he’s caught up in another horrifying twist.

Arthur Thomas and Anthony Fox are set to feature together in some scenes in the New Year. Teenager Arthur is helped by Ruby Miligan’s father with his homework.

Struggling with the work in the café, he’s surprised when he gets some unexpected help from Anthony. But given the randomness of this spoiler, could there be more to it? Might the ITV soap want us to think that way?

It certainly caught the attention of some viewers, who were unsure on the significance of the looming scene set to air in January. Fans were unsure why Anthony of all people would interact with Arthur, although he really could just be helping him.

Given what we found out about Anthony in a recent episode, fans are fearing the worst and that Anthony might have a sickening agenda. We recently saw in a flashback episode that Ruby had been s.e.x.u.a.l.l.y abused by her father Anthony when she was a teenager.

Ahead of her exposing his sick abuse, she’s spiralling and has hit the bottle unable to cope with his presence in the village. With fans fearing it will turn out Anthony is the biological father of Ruby’s daughter Steph, the abuse could also explain why Ruby was adamant she would keep her daughter away from her grandparents when she was younger.

With Anthony now taunting his daughter and acting as though nothing happened all those years ago, viewers are fearing that teenager Arthur could be targeted by sick Anthony. One viewer posted online: “Is he going to groom Arthur?”

Another fan theorised: “Is Arthur in danger from Anthony?” as a third viewer shared their confusion over the spoiler, saying: “I don’t see why Anthony would help Arthur with his homework unless Arthur asked him, or Anthony is genuinely offering to help him to be nice or Laurel asks him to help Arthur.”

A further theory read, with a fan suspecting there was drama ahead: “So that’s Laurel and Arthur added to the list of suspects when the inevitable Anthony whodunnit happens at some point in 2025!” It comes amid fans speculating Anthony has taken teen April Windsor, after the 15 year old vanished.

She was shown running away, getting into the back of a mystery man’s car. Fans now fear it’s Anthony who has April, and that he may harm the teenager.
