Emmerdale star Claire King has confirmed her future on the soap beyond this year’s Christmas storyline.
The ITV soap has raised fears for Kim’s safety, as a mystery villain appears to be heading to the village to take revenge against her on Christmas Day.
Kim’s husband Will and financial advisor Peter are both currently plotting against her, but an unknown third party – confirmed to be a male character – is pulling all the strings from afar.
Peter recently announced that this shady figure is out of the country until Christmas, when Kim and Will are due to renew their wedding vows.
Claire appeared live on ITV’s This Morning on Wednesday (December 18) and was asked whether this could be Kim’s last Christmas in the show.
Promising that Kim definitely survives the festive drama, Claire laughed: “Well, my contract runs out in June and if they decide to keep me on and I decide to accept, then I might be here longer!”
She added: “I have a full day [filming] in studio and I’ve got to be on set in about half an hour.”
Claire also teased the upcoming festive drama, but was careful not to spoil any specific storyline details ahead of Emmerdale‘s Christmas Day surprises.
Discussing the story, she explained: “It’s been a little bit challenging. It’s been lovely because I love working with Dean [Andrews, who plays Will] and we’re good muckers off set as well, so that’s been fantastic.
“But it’s been a little bit hard because of the subject matter and things, but I can’t go into that because then you’ll find out what happens. I’m desperate to tell you but I’d be shot!”
Asked how angry Kim will be when she inevitably uncovers Will’s betrayal, Claire replied: “I don’t think angry’s the word! I think she’s going to be positively rampantly livid. I think she’ll want retaliation very quickly.”
