Emmerdale Soap Scoop! Cain and Graham spark suspicion
Emmerdale star Bradley Riches has teased his character Lewis Barton’s future on the ITV soap, confirming he intends to stay in the Dales for as long as possible.
Riches, also known for his role in Heartstopper and for Celebrity Big Brother, joined Emmerdale in 2025 as Lewis Barton, the long-lost son of Emma Barton and half-brother of Ross.
In the Dales, Lewis has been at the centre of some dramatic storylines, including a subplot that confirmed Robert Sugden’s prison husband Kev Townsend is his biological father.
The storyline with Kev hasn’t been explored just yet – Kev left the Dales before telling Lewis the truth – though the door has been left open for more potential scenes with the father-son duo in the future.

“I am very in the moment. Right now I’m really fulfilled and happy,” the actor told the Daily Star.
“I’ll stay until they kill me. I’ll go wherever the wind blows!”
Previously speaking about what’s next for Lewis, Riches teased a “boyfriend” may be in his future, possibly referring to housemate-turned-crush Vinny Dingle.
“There are lots of twists and turns coming up,” Riches said at Attitude magazine’s 101 event.
“I might have a bit of love coming my way. Maybe I find a boyfriend… that’s the next thing!”
“There will also be some big family moments. My character doesn’t know his mum or dad. But he finds bonds. So there is some platonic love coming up for him.”
Things between Lewis and Vinny have been moving at a slothful pace so far – or at least Ross believed so when he decided to give them a push and play matchmaker.
In tonight’s episode, Ross tried to set up a romantic lunch for his brother and Vinny, but his scheme fell flat when Vinny failed to show up as his phone was turned off.
When Ross came clean about his real intentions for the quasi-couple, both Vinny and Lewis reacted shyly and hurried back to their rooms. When will this slow-burn romance catch fire? Very soon, as it turns out.
In upcoming scenes, Vinny and Lewis finally kiss after Vinny offers to help out on the farm during a sheep-related disaster. As they head home for an early night, something occurs that might halt their loved-up plans as Vinny is left confused.
