Mary reappears for scenes at The Woolpack as Vanessa Woodfield faces a big decision over their recent feud.

Vanessa’s dilemma begins when Rhona reveals that she’s planning a special party for her mum’s upcoming birthday.

As Rhona’s friendship with Vanessa is now back on track, she hopes that things can go another step further.

Rhona invites Vanessa to be part of the celebratory gathering, believing the time is right for a reconciliation between her and Mary.

Sadly, Vanessa shuts the idea down, claiming that she’s nowhere near ready to forgive Mary for betraying her with Suzy Merton before the tragic limo crash.

Later, we see Mary back working at The Woolpack, just as Vanessa may be having second thoughts over her tough stance.

At the start of this month, Mary left the village to stay with Rhona’s aunty Vivian in Brighton for a while.

She told Rhona that she wanted to get out of the way, as she felt that her presence in the village was doing more harm than good.

Mary said at the time: “Vanessa needs space – and I think you lot do as well. Just look at everything that’s gone on here lately – you didn’t even have a clue.

“You’ve all been through so much, I think you need to figure out what it is to be a family again. What you don’t need is a live-in granny, making it all harder.

“It won’t be for long, poppet. I’m always at the end of the phone.”
