Emmerdale spoilers follow for Tuesday’s (April 15) episode that is now available to view on ITVX. The episode in question will air on ITV1 on at 7:30pm.
Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) future hangs in the balance after a grave mistake saw him leave his coat behind at Mill Cottage.
The ever-stylish schemer, who is never short of a fancy coat or two, wore one of said fancy jackets to lunch at Caleb Miligan’s (William Ash) after being invited by the businessman.
Joe, as viewers know, is keen to know more about his uncle Caleb, whose kidney he secretly stole last month, believing that the villager could be of great use to him.
With Steph (Georgia Jay) having implied that they’re not related and Ruby (Beth Cordingly) having snapped at him, Joe was determined to get to the bottom of the secrets plaguing the Miligans.
Caleb, meanwhile, was keen to cover his loved ones’ tracks and therefore, in an old fashioned case of keeping your enemies close, he invited Joe to dinner.
A traditionally Tate way ofsolving your issues, Caleb.
Joe brought Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) along as a buffer, hoping to use his little brother as a distraction to allow him ample time to find out anything that may prove useful in the future.
With all parties having an agenda, the afternoon proved deliciously tense and pure Emmerdale. Caleb use the opportunity to smooth things over, managing to throw Joe off the scent with a convincing story.
But Caleb’s lies were the last thing on the Joe’s mind in the wake of the dinner party as he was unable to locate his coat – the very coat that contains a box of his medication.

Will Caleb locate the jacket and medication and thus work out that Joe was the one behind his kidney ordeal? Is the downfall of Joe Tate almost upon us? Or will quick-thinking Joe come up with a way to get himself out of the situation?
One of our weekly video clips, taken from Wednesday’s (April 16) edition of the ITV soap and can be watched above, shows Joe arrive at Mill Cottage to obtain his pills – but he drops them on the floor by accident.
Can he cover his tracks before Caleb sees through him?
