Help is on the way for the Emmerdale villagers in Tuesday’s episode (February 18), but will it be in time to prevent any further fatalities?
The ITV soap is currently airing one of its biggest-ever stunt storylines, which sees village favourites fighting for their lives on a frozen lake.
Earlier this week, the show confirmed that the girls’ limo was the one that had crashed onto the lake after Charity Dingle swerved to avoid her son Noah in the road.
Suzy Merton died instantly after suffering a head injury in the crash, leaving her girlfriend Vanessa Woodfield devastated. The rest of the passengers then discovered their predicament and made plans to get themselves to safety.
Charity Dingle, Chas Dingle, Vanessa and Tracy Metcalfe managed to head back to stable ground – as did Liam Cavanagh, who’d gatecrashed the girls’ journey.
Things took another turn for the worse when Amy tried to cross the frozen surface and plunged down into the icy water, where she became trapped and started to sink.
picks up straight after this cliffhanger as Amy remains underwater and viewers discover whether she’ll be saved or not.
The chaos continues as Kerry Wyatt and Leyla Harding, who still haven’t left the vehicle, face their own frantic fight to survive.
Time isn’t on their side as the ice cracks, which risks sending the limo crashing down into the water with Kerry and Leyla still inside.
Ambulances finally arrive following the disaster, but will they be able to save those most in need? As previously teased by the cast involved in this story, the tragedies of the week may not be over.
Meanwhile, over in the boys’ group, a battered and bruised Cain lies on the ground after being beaten up by his brother Caleb.
Does Cain have any supporters left now that everyone knows he slept with his sister-in-law Ruby?
