EastEnders enthusiasts have been left intrigued by Oscar Branning ahead of his return to the popular BBC soap.
Oscar, the youngest offspring of Max and Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner), was born in December 2007, which means he’s now a 17 year old lad.
In June 2017, Oscar (portrayed by Charlee Hall) paid a visit to his father Max (Jake Wood) on Father’s Day, a meeting arranged by Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), and hasn’t been seen since – until this moment.
The mischievous teenager makes his comeback to Walford on Monday (July 14), reuniting with his stunned sister Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), and doesn’t hesitate to stir things up.
He’ll also encounter his uncle Jack and his wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish), and soon finds himself attempting to swindle money from Adam Beale (Adam Woodyatt), reports Belfast Live.
Oscar will eventually confide in Jack about his relationship with his parents and pleads with Lauren to let him stay in Albert Square, to which she consents provided he behaves himself.
As the young lad continues to wreak havoc, he is offered a job at the fruit and veg stall and insists it’s the chance he needs to get his life back on track.
However, when Oscar’s first day on the job turns out to be eventful, he takes the opportunity seriously upon discovering that his nephew, Jimmy Beale, is blind.
Actor Pierre Moullier is now stepping into the role of Oscar Branning as viewers finally catch up with the character after eight years.
Soap enthusiasts are all aflutter as upcoming EastEnders newbie Pierre draws astonishing resemblances to his screen dad Max, famously portrayed by Jake Wood.
Flocking to social media, one eagle-eyed fan praised: “I think that’s great casting – I would totally believe he is the son of Jake Wood and Jo Joyner.”
Another keen viewer commented: “Terrific casting as Max’s son.”
Meanwhile, a third added: “The casting is amazing omg, I can see a resemblance!”
One impressed soap lover declared: “That’s just Jake Wood when he had hair! Outstanding casting”, and another agreed, saying: “Looks like a young Jake Wood!”
Another fan confidently endorsed the casting choice: “Great casting he really does look like Max.”
