Viewers watched this week as Damon was arrested for armed robbery after being blackmailed into it by brother Harvey Gaskell.

He had the option to turn on Harvey and be freed to live his life with girlfriend Sarah Platt but he knew they would never be safe.

So he decided to plead guilty and accept years in prison with Harvey instead.

The brothers had a brutal fight and then reunited with plans to relaunch their criminal empire from behind bars.

In last night’s episode gangster Damon summoned Sarah to prison to break up with her.

As Sarah told him how she planned to wait for him and that they could have a future together, Damon had to drop a bombshell on her.

He told her: “I don’t want you to do that because I asked you here to tell you to your face, we’re finished.

“I’m doing you a massive favour.
