Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) can’t make head nor tail of his wife Abi’s (Sally Carman-Duttine) reaction to his brother Carl’s (Jonathan Howard) arrival in Weatherfield next week.
On Friday, viewers were introduced to Carl, who has come to the UK from Germany to support Kevin through his cancer treatment.
Abi and Carl first met during an incident at Freshco’s car park, unaware they are actually related.
And despite getting off on the wrong foot, it soon became apparent they shared a sizzling chemistry – with it already being confirmed they will soon embark on a steamy affair.
‘They had this shock meeting where they ran into each other in the car park and there was instant electricity, a spark’ actress Sally Carman-Duttine told us.
‘Then he turned up in her life and turned out to be Kevin’s brother, which was gutting because he’d awakened something in her.
‘I think with Abi, with her being an addict, there was that rush, that adrenaline that she hasn’t had for a very long time. It completely turned her from red to blue.’
Next week, however, their strange dynamic catches Kevin’s attention after he invites Carl to stay at No.9 with him and Abi.
She is struggling with being under the same roof as Carl and tells him to make himself scarce so she can have some time alone with Kevin later after his chemo session.
‘She just implodes all the time and the consequences are devastating’ Sally explained.
‘It’s really exciting to play, I’ve been so lucky to be able to play all those different elements of her.

‘Certainly, with the Seb storyline and the PTSD, I’ve loved that.
‘But this is that other element where it’s just dangerous and I’m so lucky to be able to play all these different things.’
When Abi later calls Kevin she’s annoyed when Carl answers telling her that they are in the Rovers.
She storms over to the pub and accuses him of ruining her afternoon with Kevin, who demands to know what is going on.

What will the pair say?
Carl shares a dad – Bill – with Debbie and Kevin, though the siblings have a different mum, having grown up in Germany, where he was born in 1986.
Later in the week, it seems there are some problems back home, as Carl confides in Abi that his business in Germany is about to go bust.
Abi assures him that Kevin will understand if he needs to fly back, but Kevin’s gutted and wishes he could help – and it’s an offer he may soon live to regret…
