Coronation Street‘s Bertie Osbourne will be faced with an uncertain future next week, after he is involved in a terrifying accident while being watched by Jenny Connor.
The drama begins when Jenny gifts a spa voucher to Rita Tanner, telling her that Daisy Midgeley’s dad – and Jenny’s former husband – invested shares in her name a long time ago and she’s expecting a £60k payout as a result.
Meanwhile, Daisy is stressed about how much money she and Jenny still owe to Carla Connor. However, Jenny decides to keep quiet about her new windfall.

When Daniel Osbourne suggests to Daisy that she could move back in with him and his son Bertie, Daisy worries about leaving Jenny alone – unaware that Jenny is keeping secrets from her.
With Jenny having received the spa voucher back from Rita, she gives it to Daisy instead, claiming that she bought it especially for her to cheer her up after everything she’s been through recently.
While Daisy is touched by Jenny’s apparently kind gesture, Jenny tries to force down the guilt she’s feeling about lying to Daisy.

Later in the week, Daisy discovers the truth about Jenny’s sudden windfall and questions how long Jenny is planning on keeping the money a secret.
When Jenny decides to offer Carla the £60k as a part-payment of her debt, Carla isn’t pleased and suggests that Jenny should use the money for a business loan instead, so that she can raise enough to pay off her entire debt.
Later on, as Jenny looks after Bertie, she gets a call from the bank and loses sight of Bertie while distracted. Wandering off, Bertie finds his football floating in the hot tub in No.4’s garden.
It isn’t long before Steve McDonald and Cassie Plummer are sneaking out for a cheeky dip in the hot tub, but they’re shocked to find Bertie in the water.
While terrified Jenny searches the street for missing Bertie, Steve and Cassie appear with the little boy after pulling him out of the hot tub.
Daisy is horrified when she finds out what has happened and, as they take Bertie to hospital to be checked, she unleashes her anger on Jenny, pointing out that Bertie could have drowned just like Jenny’s own young son, Tom.
Jenny is distraught to think about what could have happened – will Bertie be okay after his ordeal?
