The latest Coronation Street spoilers suggest Lauren may give away her baby, Frankie, as she confides in
Max in the Monday episode. As we already know, Gus and Anthea have been tormenting her and Max
regarding the baby’s custody. Since they came to know that Lauren was planning to bring up the baby in
the prison’s bay-mother unit, they even threatened Max. And the recent health scare where Frankie’s body is full of bruises has only escalated the situation.
Frankie Is Not Well; Condition Worsens
Lauren was already worried when baby Frankie was hospitalized because of the bruises on his body. While initially she suspected the bruises to be Gus and Anthea’s doings, it turns out – the tot has a serious underlying condition. Recently, the doctors have confirmed that baby Frankie has aplastic anaemia. Due to the condition, the child will need blood transfusions fortnightly until a suitable bone marrow donor comes in.
While Lauren thought she could help out her baby as a donor, the doctor ruled it out. She had Hepatitis C from a piercing when she was 13, and that’s why she couldn’t donate. The news came like a blow to Lauren, and she had a major breakdown. She thought that now Gus and Anthea had even more reasons to win the custody battle.
What Lauren Said to Max
Lauren told Max: “He deserves better than me – he does. I’ve always known it deep down. I’m a waste of space like my dad always said. Frankie didn’t come out of love. He came out of abuse. The first few months of his life, he’s spent in hospital and now prison. Now he’s really poorly, and I can’t even help him because I got a stupid backstreet piercing when I was wasted. The universe is just telling me that I don’t deserve to be a mum. The truth is, Frankie would be better with someone else. As much as I hate them, maybe Frankie would be better off with Gus and Anthea.” Max disagrees.
With so much to take in, it isn’t easy for Lauren. But will she really give her baby up? Or will Max come to the rescue? They do not know about Dee-Dee’s secret pregnancy yet. Once she reveals it, they may be able to protect baby Frankie because the unborn baby is Joel’s, too.
