Coronation Street‘s Dee-Dee Bailey finds herself at loggerheads with her brother James next week, after she shares an emotional experience with baby Laila. Is she already regretting her decision to give up her little one?

After Dee-Dee hears her younger brother talking about how Laila kept him up through the night, she offers to lend a hand so that he can catch up on sleep. And as soon as Dee-Dee takes over caregiving duties, she can’t help but smile at her tiny tot…

“It can’t be easy for Dee-Dee. Ever since James returned to Weatherfield, she’s seen more of Laila than she ever imagined she would,” our Corrie source explains.

“It wasn’t that long ago that she didn’t even know the next time that she would see Laila – now she’s closer than ever, and forming a bond with her. This could be a recipe for disaster if dealt with the wrong way…”

Not long afterwards, Dee-Dee opens a letter that reveals Laila is due for her vaccinations. And while the task should fall on James’ shoulders, Michael informs Dee-Dee that their brother has travelled to Leeds and won’t be able to make it.

In response, Dee-Dee comes to terms with the fact that she needs to take Laila along to be treated herself. How will she deal with the unexpected responsibility?

“Dee-Dee braves the appointment,” our insider explains. “But she admits to Michael afterwards that she found the entire thing emotional, which you can hardly blame her for.

“It’s another opportunity to get to know the gorgeous baby that she gave birth to, while also having to remember that James is going to be the one who raises her…”

Earlier in the week, Daniel Osbourne suggests that Dee-Dee speaks with Amy Barlow about appearing on a student radio station to discuss Black women’s maternity experiences.

However, once she attends Laila’s appointment, the solicitor confesses that she doesn’t think she’s strong enough to go ahead with it. Will Dee-Dee go through with it – or give up on the unique opportunity to spread the word about her plight?

Later, Dee-Dee and James struggle to keep their emotions under control as they butt heads over Laila. As tensions mount between the two siblings, is the Bailey family on the brink of being torn apart? And if so, will innocent Laila be caught in the crossfire?
