We’ve seen all too little of Nicola Mitchell (Laura Doddington) in EastEnders recently, but following her return earlier this week, the fan favourite is set to make her presence felt after dropping a huge bombshell.

The character had been notably absent from screens amid her son Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) recent ‘disappearance’, but that all changed on Wednesday following his escape from Okie Okyere’s (Aayan Ibikunle Shoderu) clutches.

Nicola pleaded with Harry not to tell the police about the events that led to drugs pusher Okie taking him hostage, worried about the repercussions it could have on her son.

But after Harry revealed all about his involvement in Ravi Gulati’s (Aaron Thiara) drugs ring and how he’d got his best mate Kojo Asare (Dayo Koleosho) inadvertently caught up in it, the Knight family were left reeling at the truth.

It subsequently destroyed Nicola’s blossoming romance with Kojo’s older brother George Knight (Colin Salmon), who was disgusted by recent events.

Nicola is on the warpath next week, and following Ravi’s arrest, she blows up at his partner Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy), who is refusing to believe Ravi is involved.

Nicola later gets caught up chatting with her former sister-in-law Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), who senses her strange mood. After some cajoling, Nicola then drops a massive bombshell – could it be that she’s now pregnant?

But before Honey has a chance to dissect the situation much further, Nicola takes a worrying phone call and rushes to Harry.

It turns out there’s a deadly situation unfolding for him and Kojo, as they come face-to-face with Okie once more.

This time, however, there is a knife involved, and as Harry rushes to protect Kojo, he accidentally stabs Okie.

With it currently unclear if Okie lives or dies, how will known killer Nicola step up to protect her son?
