Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) was delivered some harsh home truths by siblings Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Sam Dingle (James Hooton) in this evening’s episode of Emmerdale.
This week, a rift has formed between Cain and Sam and it ultimately started because of one man – Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Joe was accused of organising the break-in at Butlers Farm at the start of the week. Cain and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) made this assumption because of how determined Joe has been to get Moira’s land as part of Kim Tate’s (Claire King) grand plan.
At Home Farm, Moira confronted Joe, but he said his plans never involve putting children in danger. Moira didn’t believe Joe and went to hit him, but Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) got in the way.

As Moira was taken to the police station, Cain found Lydia and told her that she must lie if she is questioned about the attack. Lydia seemed reluctant to do this but as far as Cain was concerned, he wasn’t asking her – he was telling her.
Cain’s behaviour towards Lydia obviously angered Sam a great deal. In the pub, Cain grew frustrated to hear Sam talk about the Tates. He told his brother to pick a side – and it wasn’t going to be the Dingles.
In this evening’s episode, Moira told Cain to sort things out with Sam. There’s was some reluctancy, but he chose to head to Wishing Well to try and talk to his sibling.

When Cain got there though, he grew annoyed to find Joe sitting in one of their chairs. Joe had arrived a few moments prior to play good cop again and made an effort to ask Lydia about her injury, and reassure her and Sam that he thinks of them as more than just Home Farm employees.
Unfortunately, any hopes of sorting out the feud got destroyed as soon as Cain saw a Tate in the Dingle home. Even the notion!
Sam mentioned that Joe had asked him to sort a few more jobs, and Cain told him that wouldn’t be happening. He then spoke about being head of the family, and believed his relatives should do as he asked.
Sam thought that following Zak’s (Steve Halliwell) death, the Dingles had been anything but a strong and loyal unit. He then delivered a pretty low blow by reminding Cain that Nate (Jurell Carter) was murdered shortly after he disowned him.
He was doing so well with not reacting to something with violence but this comment made Cain lunge towards Sam. He was stopped by Belle, who told her brother that he’s never going to change.
‘Sam’s right, you’re a bully’, she said.
