Last year, I discussed Preston’s leukemia fight and the infamous GoFundMe started by Robyn’s ex-husband. At that time, I felt a bit fooled, and now it’s becoming clear that many others were also deceived. Preston’s wife, allegedly named Jennifer Lea David, was sending me updates and the GoFundMe link on social media. She even messaged me frequently, but looking back, how do I know it wasn’t someone else, maybe even Robyn, behind a fake account?

This experience has made me wary. Many people from the South, myself included, are well aware of scammers and liars. I might have been fooled once, but not again. Jennifer, allegedly Preston’s wife, sent me the GoFundMe link, claiming she wasn’t working because she had kids. That was a red flag because most people with kids still have to work, especially when facing health issues.

When I stopped talking about the GoFundMe, another content creator, “Without a Crystal Ball,” picked it up, which seemed suspicious. The organizer’s name on the GoFundMe changed from Stacy Jessup to just “J.” The lack of recent updates since January is also telling. This lady wasn’t widely sharing the GoFundMe, only with specific creators, which raises more red flags.

I wonder if Robyn organized this GoFundMe and the money is going to her instead of Preston. It’s plausible, especially if Preston isn’t active on social media and unaware of the GoFundMe. This situation serves as a reminder to be cautious about where you donate your money.

Feeling deceived, I started questioning the legitimacy of the GoFundMe when alleged text messages between Robyn and Preston about their son Dayton’s four-wheeler accident surfaced. Jennifer claimed not to know about these messages, further raising my suspicions. She then redirected me to “Without a Crystal Ball,” who suddenly started sharing the GoFundMe. Coincidence? I think not.

Remember, be mindful and pay attention to where you donate your money. Some people lie about serious things without remorse. This Jennifer account that was messaging me turned out to be fishy, especially after the alleged text messages between Robyn and Preston. When I asked Jennifer about these texts, she denied any knowledge, which didn’t add up.

Eventually, I told her to contact “Without a Crystal Ball” for help. Shortly after, “Without a Crystal Ball” began promoting the GoFundMe, adding to my doubts. Pay attention to people and their actions.
