Emmerdale star Geoff Dignan has confirmed his future on the ITV soap as Aidan Moore.
Aidan is the former fiancé of killer John Sugden and had been in a coma for years, though he recently left John in a panic when he suddenly woke up.
Plagued with a vision of Aidan interrupting his wedding to Aaron Dingle, John decided to strike again at the hospital.
The killer turned off the sound on Aidan’s monitor and went to give him a fatal injection, saying he had no choice but to kill him to stop him from telling everyone what really happened between them.

But just as he was about to administer the lethal dose, John had a change of heart and said he couldn’t do it. However, Aidan had a cardiac arrest and slipped back into a coma.
Taking to X, Dignan said he “had and absolute blast” playing Aidan, indicting that he’s finished filming his scenes as the character.
“I had an absolute blast playing Aidan Moore in Emmerdale,” he wrote. “I’ve met great people from the crew to the very talented cast.”
However, he did jokingly tease that this might not be the last we see of the character, adding: “Who knows what’s in store for Aidan. After all it is Emmerdale. He’s woke up once… why not one more time.”

John, who has been secretly endangering the residents of the village for months due to his obsessive hero complex, has also been on edge after Nate Robinson’s body was found.
John accidentally killed Nate by swooping in to give him an injection of drugs after he’d been beaten up by his dad Cain.
Nate immediately suffered a terrible reaction and passed away, leading John to dispose of the body in the lake.
However, it was recently confirmed that Nate’s widow Tracy Robinson will become a prime suspect in his murder, after the cops discover damning evidence that leaves her under suspicion.
