This article contains spoilers for tonight’s Coronation Street, which has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch now on ITVX.
A Coronation Street exit has been confirmed as Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) received news from a social worker in tonight’s episode.
Sally and husband Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) have been fostering the Michaelis kids, following their parents’ arrests.
Mick Michaelis was arrested and charged with the murder of Craig Tinker earlier this year, while Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty) was arrested for her assault on Gary Windass (Mikey North).
In tonight’s scenes, Sally found out that Lou planned to plead guilty to the assault, meaning she would be facing a lengthy prison stretch.
Following the news, Sally agreed to take Joanie and Shanice to see their mum, and asked Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) if he wanted to join them.

Brody agreed to go along, though once they arrived at the prison he was clearly hostile toward Lou.
With the kids out of earshot, Lou defended Brody to Sally, pointing out that this was his way of showing that he was upset.
She went on to confess that she knew she was going to be behind bars for a long time, and asked Sally for a favour.

Lou had previously asked Sally to pay for an expensive lawyer, and Sally reiterated that she couldn’t afford one, though Lou insisted that wasn’t what she was going to ask for.
Emotional, she requested that Sally not bring the children to see her anymore, explaining that she didn’t want their prison visits to be their core memories of her.
Determined to do right by Brody, Joanie and Shanice, Sally agreed.
