This week on Coronation Street, Weatherfield is left reeling as Aadi Alahan’s downward spiral reaches a terrifying climax — and the shocking fallout could cost him his life. In scenes packed with raw emotion, betrayal, and devastating truths, the young Alahan’s relationship with his father, Dev, hits breaking point, while a long-buried secret shatters his romance with Lauren Bolton forever. But by the end of the week, viewers will be left asking: has Aadi finally given up on everything?
Aadi, who has been part of the cobbles since his 2006 on-screen birth alongside twin sister Asha, has faced one disaster after another in recent months. Once seen as Weatherfield’s cheeky, charming young lad, Aadi has been on a self-destructive path, making reckless decisions that have not only alienated those closest to him but also pushed him into dangerous territory.
Earlier this year, Aadi’s seemingly harmless house party spiraled into chaos when Lauren became the victim of a spiking incident. Unknown to her, the drugs had been meant for Aadi himself — something he kept hidden even as the pair began growing closer.
More recently, Dev, trusting his son to take responsibility, left him in charge of the corner shop. But Aadi’s poor management left the business £6,000 in debt. In a desperate bid to fix the mess, Aadi teamed up with Brody Malis to stage a fake robbery and claim the insurance money — a foolish plan that quickly unraveled. When Dev finally uncovered the truth, the betrayal cut deep, made worse when he discovered his partner Bernie Winter had also been covering for Aadi in hopes of coaxing cash from a wealthy relative.
For Dev, a businessman who has prided himself on running multiple successful Weatherfield businesses since 1999, the realisation was crushing. Branding his son a failure, Dev’s harsh words broke something in Aadi — and it wasn’t long before the situation escalated.
Instead of facing up to his mistakes, Aadi turned to alcohol. Ignoring repeated calls and texts from Lauren, he wandered the streets in a drunken haze, eventually stumbling into the path of Gary Windass and Theo Silverton’s van. When they tried to move him, Aadi refused, falling and banging his head against a brick wall. News of the incident reached Dev through Lauren, who was frantic with worry. But when Dev found him, relief quickly turned to frustration as Aadi rejected his father’s help and stormed off.
Determined to find out why she’d been stood up, Lauren waited for Aadi at Number 7. What started as a tense confrontation quickly exploded into a brutal argument. When Lauren refused the drink he offered, Aadi finally blurted out the truth: “It was my fault you got spiked.”
Shaken to the core, Lauren listened as he admitted he’d been the intended target — he had wanted to take drugs to forget his problems, but she must have picked up his drink by mistake. He confessed he hadn’t told her out of fear she’d hate him. Her fury was instant. Accusing him of lying repeatedly, Lauren compared his betrayal to the abuse she’d endured at the hands of Joel Dearing — a chilling reminder of the trauma she’s fought so hard to escape.
Later, Amy Barlow tried to reach out to Aadi, but he pushed her away. It was his twin sister, Asha, who confronted him more directly. Though he lashed out at her, accusing her of being a “rubbish paramedic,” he eventually admitted she was right — he had brought this all on himself.
When Aadi finally confessed everything to Dev, his father was floored. Turning to Asha, Dev questioned why she hadn’t intervened earlier, before telling his son bluntly that he needed to leave Weatherfield. In a heartbreaking scene, Dev revealed he’d contacted his cousin Vikram in India, arranging for Aadi to work with him in hopes of giving him a fresh start.
But Aadi refused point-blank. Through tears, Dev admitted he couldn’t support his son anymore. Equally emotional, Aadi accused his father of kicking him out. Dev’s reply — “I don’t want to, but you’ve left me no choice” — marked the end of the road for them.
As tensions in the Alahan household boil over, other storylines rumble across the cobbles. Carla Connor is preparing to propose to Lisa Swain, but fan theories suggest disaster could strike before she gets the chance. Despite excitement over moving into Number 6 together, whispers and secret plans between Carla and Ryan have already caught Lisa’s attention. And while Carla dreams of slipping a ring into Lisa’s champagne glass at the Rovers, spoilers hint Lisa might be called away on urgent police business, derailing the romantic moment entirely.
Elsewhere, speculation is mounting about the departure of Billy Mayhew in 2026 — and many fans fear the culprit will be Theo Silverton. Since Theo began dating Todd Grimshaw, viewers have been unsettled by hints of darker behaviour. With a history involving a failed marriage, religious pressure, and conversion therapy trauma, Theo’s temper is now in the spotlight. Online fan theories suggest Billy may step in to protect Todd from abuse, only for a confrontation to turn deadly.
One theory gaining traction is that Theo could fatally injure Billy in an unplanned outburst — a tragedy that would devastate Summer and Todd, potentially tearing their already fragile relationships apart.
But while future heartbreak looms, the most immediate and gut-wrenching question for viewers is this: what happens to Aadi now? After losing Lauren, clashing with his twin, being rejected by his father, and hitting rock bottom, is he heading toward something far more final?
By Friday’s episode, the young Alahan’s fate will hang by a thread. Those around him are worried he might not make it through the night — and with the weight of guilt, rejection, and shame crushing him, Weatherfield could be about to lose another of its own.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 8 p.m. on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
