Drake Hogestyn had a remarkable acting career, showcasing his talent in series such as Criminal Minds and the festive movie Christmas Tree Lane, plus playing Roman Brady and then John Black.

He is survived by his devoted wife and high school love, Victoria, and their four children: Whitney, Alexandra, Rachael, and Ben, who is recognized for his portrayal of Lucas Jones on General Hospital. The family also includes several treasured grandchildren.

His family made an announcement through a spokesman for the show on Days of Our Lives social media;

“It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Drake Hogestyn. He was thrown the curveball of his life when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but he faced the challenge with incredible strength and determination. After putting up an unbelievable fight, he passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones; he was the most amazing husband, father, papa and actor. He loved performing for the Days audience and sharing the stage with the greatest cast, crews, and production team in the business. We love him and we will miss him all the Days of Our Lives. -The Hogestyn Family”
