John Sugden (portrayed by Oliver Farnworth) seemingly murdered Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) in brutal fashion after pursuing him through woodland and striking him with a bow and arrow in recent Emmerdale scenes.

Mackenzie initially managed to escape from John’s clutches, but was subsequently discovered and had a boulder dropped upon him.

John was later observed watching flames consume the forest, suggesting he had incinerated Mackenzie’s remains.

The most recent instalment revealed Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) receiving a message from Mackenzie declaring their marriage was finished and that he had relocated to London permanently.

Whilst she was incensed that their relationship had concluded via text message, viewers believe she could readily discover the reality behind her husband’s abrupt vanishing

Debating the plot development on Reddit, one viewer questioned: “Do you think charity has location on Mack’s phone? Cos if they can ping if or something it’ll be with John and Aaron, I can’t believe that Aaron can’t see Johns personality is proper weird.

“And bloody fingerprints in the car ? Surely Macks phones gonna make some noises. I thought it was meant to be all coming out this week.”

Another viewer contended: “If John has switched off the mobile, it will obviously not make noises. I don’t think FIND MY DEVICE works when the phone is off either. But surely Mack’s ISP can track GPS history of the phone when it was in use and reveal it’s last location, which tower it bounced off, etc.; many real murders are solved in this fashion.”

However, another viewer speculated that Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) could discover the reality about her brother following an error John made whilst texting Charity using Mackenzie’s mobile.

They suggested: “Moira did say “M?” as she read the text message Charity showed her, which sort of indicated that wasn’t the way Moira was accustomed to seeing Mack sign his texts. Maybe that will be revisited.”

Yet it appears Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) could start becoming wary of his spouse as official teasers disclose: “Charity crumbles at the idea that she’s lost Mack for good. Aaron makes a shocking discovery and accuses John of lying to him.”
