EastEnders‘ Tommy Moon made a big mistake trusting Joel Marshall in the aftermath of his shocking tube assault.
Earlier this month, Joel and Tommy were messing around on the tube together and Joel convinced Tommy to film him pulling a prank. Tommy agreed but was later horrified when Joel’s idea turned out to be a sinister one, with him pretending to fall against a female passenger so he could touch her inappropriately.
The victim, named Isla, reported Joel to staff at the time but didn’t take matters to the police after Joel’s step-mum Vicki persuaded her not to and paid her off.
In tonight’s episode Tommy was similarly silenced by Vicki, with Joel later pulling a nasty trick on his friend to implicate him in the crime.

The episode began with Joel and Vicki at home, with Joel sulking as he believed Tommy was “blanking” him following the assault.

Vicki warned Joel to stay away from Tommy, with them being trouble together, before asking if Joel knew whether Tommy had been to the police.
Vicki swiftly left the flat and headed straight for the square where she found Tommy sat on a bench watching the video.

She threatened Tommy to stay quiet about the incident otherwise there’d be consequences: “If you start shouting your mouth off I will happily tell everyone round here it was your idea.”
Later at the cafe, Alfie caught up with Tommy and asked him what was on his mind, with his step-dad concerned that he appeared distracted. An agitated Tommy said he was sick of everyone thinking the worst of him.
Alfie guessed it was to do with the telling off Kat gave him about bunking off school with Joel (unaware of the assault) and told him not to take it to heart. Alfie got up to leave and added that he didn’t want to see him getting into any trouble, then exited the cafe.

Joel then walked in and sat down at Tommy’s table. Tommy told his friend that he wouldn’t be able to hang out as much going forward and Joel brushed it off, pretending to not be bothered.
He proceeded to threaten Tommy, saying that he hadn’t told Vicki about the video he’d taken, before stealing Tommy’s drink and walking off smug.
A troubled Tommy later sought Joel out at the kebab shop and apologised for saying he couldn’t hang out, claiming it had been a heavy week.

A manipulative Joel then offered that Tommy could delete the video of the assault if he was feeling guilty about it – adding that he should send it to him before getting rid of it from his phone.
A naive Tommy sent it to Joel and deleted it, which is when Joel issued a new threat.

“You do know you’re not completely off the hook though?” he smiled. “Well now it’s on my phone it’s obvious that you filmed it and you shared it with me.
“Don’t look so worried, we’re mates again. I’m not going to snitch on you,” Joel added. “Just like you’re not going to snitch on me, right?”
Tommy sat there in silence, visibly devastated, while Joel concluded: “So we’re cool then.”
