Theo Silverton’s terrifying true colours emerge on Coronation Street next week as he threatens Billy Mayhew after being overcome with jealousy.
The scaffolder’s boyfriend Todd Grimshaw is left horrified and furious at his actions, but what will this mean for the future of their relationship?

Before this, Todd begins the week desperately proving to Theo that he’ll choose him over Billy and won’t speak to his pal anymore.
Despite Todd’s reservations over Theo’s demands and his bad mood, he wishes him well at his mediation with estranged wife Danielle.

Unfortunately the meeting soon descends into chaos when Theo’s wife brings along her new man Noah Hedley.
Once back on the cobbles, Theo seethes to find the house empty. And when he learns Todd is having a drink in The Rovers with Billy, he reaches for the brandy and waits for Todd to return…

“Todd’s been tip-toeing around Theo’s anger swings for a while,” Gareth continues. “Todd makes allowances for Theo’s increasingly controlling behaviour. But I think he’s wondering if he’s making a few compromises too many.”
Following an explosive night, a shaken Todd is trying to process Theo’s behaviour. When he bumps into Sarah, he tries to justify his boyfriend’s frightening mood swings, but she can see he’s suffering.
However, Todd’s closeness with Sarah throws Theo into another spin which is when he lashes out at his nearest target – Billy – giving him a taste of his dark side in a move that tests Todd’s patience in a big way…
“Todd seems to notice Theo’s pattern of not apologising,” Gareth says. “Todd challenges that and tells him [that] he can’t do that.”
Trying to smooth things over, Theo tells Billy he’s going to see a therapist to tackle his demons and make it up to Todd. When Billy lets this slip to Todd and tells him to go easy on Theo, he’s stunned.
“There’s a moment for the audience where they’ll think Todd is finally waking up,” reveals Gareth. “But sadly Theo uses the effects of his past and therapy to explain his behaviour…”
Later, Theo admits to his friend Gary Windass that he couldn’t face attending the therapy session – but will he tell Todd the truth? Or will he continue to manipulate his partner and make excuses for his abusive behaviour?
