Coronation Street fans have been left sharing their concern for one character as it seems they could be the one to bring down Jodie Ramsey – and its not Shona or David Platt.

Those who follow the ITV soap are keen for someone to find out what the newcomer is up to following her arrival in Weatherfield earlier this year, when she was revealed as Shona’s estranged sister.

At first, Jodie’s identity was unknown as her arrival came during the long-running show’s epic crossover with Emmerdale, which aired in January and featured a horror multi-vehicle crash with the lives of those from Weatherfield and the Dales at risk.

But it was when she ended up at the hospital that Jodie saw Shona, who was involved in the crash with her husband, David Platt, and ended up going into early labour with their daughter, Harper, who needed complex surgery at birth as she had been found to have a mass on her neck during a routine scan.

After following them to Weatherfield General, Jodie revealed herself to Shona and a confused David, who later invited her to stay at No.8, where Jodie has started a plan to get in between her sister and her husband, seemingly trying to take over his sibling’s life.

It’s fair to say that viewers have been confused, but also intrigued, by Jodie’s behaviour, particularly when it comes to her attempts to get close to David and the mystery surrounding her trinket box, which now boasts a cut-out of Bernie Winter’s face and a book belonging to Brian Packham.

During Wednesday’s (February 25) episode of the long-running show, viewers saw Shona invite Jodie to join her for a pamper day at Audrey’s salon, wanting to thank her for being so helpful since moving to Weatherfield. Jodie appeared delighted at the thought and later, relished in the praise as Shona made a toast to her.

But her joy turns to jealousy when the other guests praise Shona and David as the perfect couple. It wasn’t long before Shona’s wedding ring went missing, and when she returned to No. 8 later, she was worried that she had lost the ring. Jodie feigned concern and promised to help Shona look for it, but Bethany gave a few telling looks that hinted she didn’t quite trust Jodie’s actions.

This only continued during the follow-up episode on Thursday (February 26). Jodie was seen looking for Shona’s ring and after calling David come home, relished in the opportunity to get close to him as they dived down the back of the sofa. Later, Jodie and David arrived at the Rovers to share the great news that Jodie had found Shona’s lost ring down the side of the chair.

While everyone appeared delighted, Bethany seemed less than sure, as she saw it as far too convenient and shared her thoughts with Maria Windass. And Corrie fans are wondering whether Bethany’s suspicions over Jodie could leave her in trouble, with it yet to be seen how far Jodie will go to get what she wants.
