The BBC has confirmed two special EastEnders-themed shows to mark its anniversary week.
The soap is due to celebrate 40 years on screen later this month, which will be capped off with a live episode on Thursday, February 20.
Ahead of the big week, the broadcaster has announced special episodes of Celebrity Antiques Road Trip and Celebrity Bridge of Lies featuring stars from the soap.
The Antiques Road Trip episode will air on Friday, February 14, reuniting stars Danielle Harold (Lola Pearce) and Max Bowden (Ben Mitchell) as they head to the Cotswolds and compete to uncover antiques and sell them at auction.
Danielle will take an interest in mannequins and miniature binoculars, while Max looks at history and film culture with a toy from a famous spy movie – both aided by experts Hettie Jago and Ishy Khan.
Following that on Saturday, February 15 is Celebrity Bridge of Lies, hosted by EastEnders’ Ross Kemp, which will feature Adam Woodyatt (Ian Beale), Michelle Collins (Cindy Beale), Micah Balfour (Junior Knight) and Molly Rainford (Anna Knight).
They will a to get the team to cross the bridge all while answering EastEnders-themed questions to win money for their chosen charities.
Alongside the specials, the soap is lining up a new documentary called EastEnders: 40 Years on the Square, which will look back at its history and how it has changed audience perceptions of issues over the years.
Kemp – who is back on the main show as Grant Mitchell – will host and interview the soap’s stars past and present.
