Kelly Reilly’s Yellowstone character, Beth Dutton, may be very open about her relationship with Rip Wheeler, but the actress is known for keeping her real-life romance with her husband, Kyle Baugher, on the down low.

The British actress met Baugher at a wedding in Texas and had a long-distance relationship before marrying in 2012.

“I live between my house on the borders of Sussex and Surrey and New York, where my boyfriend lives,” the actress told The Guardian in 2011. “I’m not saying any more about him except that he’s not an actor, not in the business. I spend a lot of time across the pond. I spend a lot of my time on aeroplanes. I’m probably going to do the move soon. I’d like my life to be in one place.”

A few years later, in 2015, Reilly briefly spoke about her husband while promoting her play Old Times.

“I hadn’t done a play in eight years. I was doing play after play after play in London, and I couldn’t manage a great personal life and do a play,” she told the Evening Standard. “Now, I’m married and happy and content so I thought it was time to see if I could get that balance back.”

He attended Princeton University

Per his LinkedIn profile, Baugher, who is originally from Long Island, N.Y., attended Princeton University from 1998 through 2002, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in history.

He also played lacrosse in high school and at Princeton. In a 2002 article posted to the university’s athletics page, he spoke about switching from offense to defense when he went to college.

“When I was recruited, I was an offensive middie,” he said. “After the fall, I had a meeting with Coach Tierney. We talked about what I was doing well, and I was surprised by how well I was fitting in defensively. He told me that it would be a way to get on the field.”

Baugher’s lacrosse coach, Bill Tierney, also sang his praises, saying that Baugher was the team’s “MVP” who was “so good at what he does” that he’d “go down in Princeton lacrosse history.”

He is now a financier.

He and Reilly met at a wedding in Texas

In November 2024, Reilly appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show and revealed how she and Baugher first met.

“We met at his brother’s wedding in Marfa, Texas,” she said, explaining that she was a girlfriend’s plus-one to the nuptials. “I thought he was Texan … he’s from Long Island. He’s the love of my life. The most beautiful thing that’s ever happened to me is my marriage.”

He and Reilly got married in 2012

The couple tied the knot on June 5, 2012, in Somerset, England. The wedding was documented by photographer Ria Mishaal, who shot the images in black-and-white, giving the photographs a rustic finish. She called the occasion “a magical afternoon.”

On their 11th anniversary in 2023, Reilly posted a sweet, subtle tribute to her husband on Instagram. The carousel showed views of the desert in Utah but did not include a photo of Baugher.

“We were married in somerset ,England surrounded by the countryside I love,” she wrote in the caption. “This morning exactly 11 years later in Utah with you surrounded by rock ,wild desert flowers and Navajo willows. Mary Olivers poem for you today  (thank you , thank you ).”

Reilly often posts photos of her schnauzer dog on Instagram. In September 2018, she shared a rare snap of Baugher giving the pup a loving look during a hike.

She began the post’s caption with a John Muir quote, writing, “The mountains are calling and I must go,” before adding, “Out west again with my loves.”

He doesn’t have a social media presence

While Baugher himself doesn’t have a public social media presence, Reilly will occasionally share sweet snaps of the couple on her Instagram account.

“Another year of love .. so grateful for you ,” she captioned a 2022 New Year’s Day post of them embracing on the beach. “Wishing everyone a beautiful year x.”

While Baugher and Reilly prefer to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, the financier did make a rare appearance with the A Haunting in Venice actress in 2014. The couple attended the premiere of Cavalry during the Sundance Film Festival.
