NEWEST UPDATE!!! Coronation Street confirms Max Turner’s fate in early ITVX episode

Coronation Street confirms Max Turner’s fate in Monday’s episode (February 17) as he faces court for the first time since his bombshell confession.

The troubled teenager takes one step closer to serious danger as a judge refuses to show him any leniency for handing himself in.

Last week, Max was exposed as the mystery arsonist who’d set fire to the Platt house in an insurance scam.

Max messed up by wearing a distinctive hoodie while committing his crimes and getting caught on CCTV.

His original plan was to go on the run with help from his aunt Becky, who lives abroad with her partner.

In the end, though, Max’s stepmum Shona helped him to realise that his best move in the long-run was to hand himself over to the police and serve his time.

In Monday’s episode, Max attends his hearing and the no-nonsense judge immediately rejects his bail application.

He says: “After reviewing the evidence and considering submissions from the defence, I have come to the view that there are substantial grounds to believe that, if granted bail, the defendant may fail to surrender to custody, may commit further offences on bail or interfere with witnesses.max turner, coronation street

“Therefore it is the court’s decision that bail is denied and the defendant will remain on remand until a trial date is set.”

Watching from the public gallery, Max’s girlfriend Lauren Bolton says: “I don’t get it. He handed himself in – I thought they were going to take that into account.”

The outcome is bad news for the Platts, as jailed gangster Harvey Gaskell has already threatened to make sure Max is harmed in prison.

Harvey is piling pressure on the Platt family as they still owe him thousands of pounds after David stole his robbery money last year.

With a dramatic exit looming for Max, could he be caught in the crossfire?

Coronation Street airs these scenes tonight at 8pm on ITV1. They’re also available to watch right now on streaming service ITVX.
