Emmerdale‘s tense Valentine’s Day episode saw Caleb confront Cain over his one-night stand with wife Ruby before a dramatic limo crash.
Tonight kicked off with Caleb and Cain among the 17 villagers heading out for a night out in style – in rented limos for the occasion. But the evening soon ended in disaster.
It began with a disgruntled Caleb offering to drive the male group’s limo, wanting to be as far away as possible from Cain.
Before getting into the back, Cain checked in on his brother, sensing something was wrong, but batted it off as Caleb worrying about his recent questioning over the disappearance of Anthony Fox.
Whilst driving, Caleb’s anger continued to build, as he listened to the conversation in the back among the guests.
As Sam wittered on about loyalty, Caleb took the moment to confront Cain about his infidelity with his wife Ruby, asking him about “Dingle loyalty”.
Sam and Mandy both replied that it’s about “having each other’s back”, to which Caleb asked back: “So, betrayal between us Dingles is never acceptable, is it? Not under any circumstances?
“Did you hear that Cain?” he continued, who was sat in the back looking sheepish. “Ask him, why he slept with my wife?”
Everyone sat around silent, looking shocked as Cain realised that Caleb knew the truth.
Sam eventually asked Cain if Caleb’s accusation was true, before Caleb butted in: “Tell him not to lie to me like last time.”
Cain tried to explain and said it “meant nothing” to him, riling Caleb up further who said that while Ruby might mean nothing to Cain, she meant everything to him.
He pushed his foot down on the accelerator, driving erratically and his speed, coupled with the icy road, caused the boys’ limo to swerve off the road – with the girls’ limo crashing at the same time.
The episode ended with one limo sinking into a frozen lake. Who will make it out alive?
