Emmerdale star Dominic Brunt has revealed he feared Paddy Kirk’s fate amid the limo crash storyline.
In scenes airing tonight, many of the soap’s characters will be split into two limos, before being involved in separate crashes as one ends up in a frozen lake.
As such, lives are at risk – though whose remains to be seen – and Dominic has admitted he worried that his character Paddy could be heading for an exit.
“When we first got the scripts before I had even read them – I turned to [Mandy actor] Lisa Riley and said are we going to die in this car?” he recalled. “She told me to keep reading.”
Co-star Joshua Richards (Bear Wolf) called the scenes “incredible”, adding: “It really felt exciting to be a part of this week.
“As it all starts with them having a good time. But then the atmosphere changes. It was my first time doing the big stunt week on Emmerdale so I was pleased to be a part of it… please do watch it – as lives are definitely in peril.”
Dominic further teased that “some people will leave this earth” in the disaster, while also speaking about the “realistic” scenes they shot at night.
“The set they built at the village was amazing,” he recalled. “They created this huge lake out of wax and we filmed with all these night shoots. The lake looked so realistic.
“I can’t wait for the audience to see it. The limousine sequences were complex but it was a very enjoyable block to record.”
Meanwhile, Lisa herself has warned of danger for Mandy and Paddy, recently teasing: “Will Mandy and Paddy make it at the end? We don’t know. We don’t know….”
