Days of Our Lives’ Robert Scott Wilson and Abigail Klein opened up about the reunion of Alex and Steph and what’s different this time.
Although Alex royally screwed things up with Stephanie, the Days of Our Lives couple are finally back together. Steph even quit her job at Body & Soul to be with Alex, who has changed over the past year in a good way. He’s learned from his several mistakes and isn’t the womanizer he used to be. Their portrayers, Robert Scott Wilson and Abigail Klein, recently discussed this new start for the couple.
She’s a Rock
With this renewed relationship, Klein told Soap Opera Digest, “It’s fun to see where this could possibly go, where they could go.” She explained that bringing the two characters back together was unexpected. “I didn’t see that coming, honestly,” she noted. But she had nothing but praise for Wilson and remarked that both the actors and the characters have grown, making this new Alex/Steph go-round seem fresh.
Wilson was also pleasantly surprised by the recoupling, stating that Klein is “an absolute rock star of an actress. I love working with her, and we’ve got a great thing going.” He also felt that the fans were keeping their fingers crossed for Alex and Stephanie to eventually get back together.
He Doesn’t Do Dumb Things Anymore
Wilson explained that since their initial breakup, which was because Alex shut off her phone when a call came through saying her mother Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) supposedly died. As a result, she missed what would have been her last words with her mom (Thankfully, Kayla was brought back to life). Wilson stated that Alex has learned a lot of hard lessons since then.
He also felt that this time around, Alex was mentally prepared for a mature relationship with Stephanie. “He doesn’t do dumb things anymore. Well, he probably still does some dumb sh–, but he’s ready to settle down.” Klein was also excited to see where this story would lead, and so are we!
