Emmerdale has aired a new mystery involving Joe Tate after Noah Dingle made a huge decision regarding his future.
Joe has been in the thick of it since his return to the Dales last year, with the character embarking on an affair with Dawn Fletcher. Charity Dingle discovered their affair, but seemed more perturbed by Joe’s growing influence over her son Noah.
This arc saw Joe attempt to convince his half-brother to take up a job in Dubai, with Noah subsequently mulling over the offer. Charity wasn’t best pleased with Joe’s move, and began Monday’s (February 10) episode by urging him to withdraw the offer.
After he bluntly refused, Charity threatened to expose his affair with Dawn if he didn’t comply. The act of intimidation fell on deaf ears, however, with Joe admitting that he didn’t care whether his and Dawn’s secret got out.
Joe then informed Dawn that their affair had been exposed, though he urged her to remain calm and investigate why Kim Tate had bugged his room. Her detective work wasn’t successful, however, as Kim calmly batted away several questions.
Charity, meanwhile, was even more flustered as Noah appeared to accept Joe’s proposal, with the latter acting smug as he seemingly got his way. Charity attempted to convince Noah to stay put, but he seemed determined to head to pastures new.
After Joe and Dawn successfully managed to delete the file from Kim’s laptop, Noah arrived to inform Joe that he wouldn’t be taking the “opportunity of a lifetime” after all, citing his desire to remain close to his family.

Joe attempted to change his mind by saying he “had to” sign the contract. He then lashed out and told Noah that he had “no idea what [he] had done.” What exactly is Joe hiding?…
Charity isn’t the only one suspicious of Joe, with several fans of the soap airing their curiosity via social media, with one user writing on X/Twitter: “What’s all that about [with] Joe? #Emmerdale”.
“Is Joe trying to sell Noah #emmerdale” asked a second fan, with a third writing: “is part of joe’s plan to hurt charity or something?? why does he want noah to leave and go to dubai so so badly??? #emmerdale”
