Coronation Street has teased the next step in Carla Connor and Rob Donovan’s storyline.
A new spoiler clip shows the moment that Carla heads back to visit Rob in prison, where she updates him on plans for the potential kidney transplant.
Rob recently agreed to help save Carla’s life, claiming that he wanted to make amends for the past after finding God during his time in jail.
The truth is that Rob is hiding a much bigger agenda and sees Carla’s health crisis as an opportunity to scheme.
Corrie‘s new video sees Carla inform Rob that plans are in place for him to be tested to see if he’s a possible match.
Rob seems delighted, but his mood changes when Carla explains that the tests will be carried out on-site at the prison rather than in hospital.
The convicted killer complains that he’s missing out on a day away from jail, and Carla is guarded when she sees his strange reaction. What is Rob really up to?
Watch below for a first look at the scene:
Marc Baylis, who plays Rob, recently teased: “Rob is a very different person. It’s been seven years since we last saw him. That’s a lot of life. It’s a lot of time to be in the prison system as well.
“He’s not had the easiest of times in prison, as I don’t think anyone would do for that amount of time, particularly someone who did what he did to a young woman.
“It’s not something that he’s had an easy journey with, and it’s something that he has huge regrets over with the way that everything played out. We do get to see some of that on screen, as well as Rob’s genuine feelings.
“But with Rob, there are always motives to make his life better than what it is, and that may well get him into trouble yet again.”
